Mr. Garofalo has over twenty-five years of combined broad-based and executive experience in strategic planning, policy/advocacy development, sales/marketing and financial experience for three major global Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical corporations. His career over the last fifteen years has made him a sought after expert in the Advocacy/Industry sector for many diseases and professional communities. Most recently Mr. Garofalo established Patient Alliances, LLC., where he serves as a Managing Partner. Aimed to provide Strategic Healthcare Alliances and Solutions to a diversified client base in the healthcare sector.

  • During his tenure with Bristol Myers Squibb he created a competitive advantage for the Oncology Franchise by identifying and establishing strategic alliances with key cancer advocacy organizations to achieve organizational goals that are usually not attainable through traditional business channels.
  • He fostered key relationships and partnerships for emerging products in pipeline.
  • He communicated and demonstrated a compelling vision and mission to alliances that generated respect and commitment throughout the Oncology community.
  • He also proactively monitored policy/reimbursement issues and events that represented opportunities or threats to the BMS Oncology franchise.
  • While at Amgen, Mr. Garofalo lead and created Amgen’s LT Oncology Ally Development Strategic Rationale & Plan. The Plan addressed cross-functionality optimization, influence maps, alignment, environmental risks, pipeline support, maintenance of optimal market-based Federal payment, and expanded access to experimental cancer treatments.
  • He led Advocacy Teams addressing strategic business issues with the Food & Drug Agency and The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid.  
  • Created engagement plans relating to Oncology Drug Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Fostered and insured that key Executives engaged with both the Cancer Community and appropriate Governmental agencies and Officials.
  • Communicated and managed internal and external expectations of Strategic Alliances at the senior executive levels and throughout Amgen.
  • Was selected and represented Global Gov’t Affairs organization on the Board of the Amgen Foundation.
